Okay so this week’s story is better than last week’s. I was a teenager when this song came out and riding dirty with my best guy friend, of whom I loved the entire world out of, in my mom’s Oldsmobile station wagon. You know those really big station wagons? The one where you could hide two bodies in the hatchback, just in case you had to drive around a whole crew of HOT teenage boys from the cool high school that you wish you could have attended instead of your loser high school? Yeah. Those station wagons. Anyhow, I don’t know who else was with us at this specific time that comes to mind, because all that mattered was that me and the love of my life that never happened were together. I was driving and he was in the passenger seat and this song came on and me being the ever so confident one that I am/was, I started singing out loud. I sang. Like, legit sang this song. And I remember he looked over, watched me for 10 seconds and then said, “You like this song huh?” And I smiled, nodded and kept on singing, wishing ever so hard that the reason he watched me for 10 seconds was because he liked me as much as I liked him.
